I want all the songs to be really different. Nothing that you would just listen to on the radio. I have already found my song for lyrical "slow dancing in a burning room" by john mayer. And i have previously danced to songs by rilo kiley, evanescence, and roisin murphy. Please help.

  1. jazz- i got it from my mama

    lyrical- dont worry know

    either- stand in the rain

  2. How about "Mama Who Bore Me" or other songs from Spring Awakening (the musical) for a modern piece? I was just in a music revue where we performed that song with modern dancers working in couples and it looked incredible! Opening the repertoire to showtunes for ideas might not be a bad idea, all you have to do is find the right more obscure musicals.

  3. I love John Mayer and that song is my favorite.

Songs I would like to use include:

"Winter" by Tori Amos ( that would be good for modern)

Slaughter on 10th Ave. is a great piece of work for jazz

"A song for Milly Michelason" is a nice song for modern

for the pointe solo I like phillip glass' piano pieces, music from the atonment soundtrack or music from the ballet "la Bayadare"

    good luck.

  4. Esmeralda Variation for pointe??

  5. i am a dancer myself and as for a pointe' solo you should use the only hope instrumental or romance byYuki Kajira as for modern i am not sure at the moment but ill come back to you when i have an idea at the moment i am blank.

  6. For modern, I recommend: Heaven Sent- Keyshia Cole

    For Jazz, try: Creator- Santogold
