My friends and I want to go to the Chinese lantern festival at Ontario place in Toronto (Canada). One of my friends said last year she got in for free because her dad walked her through this route and got in. But we asked her dad to explain and he couldnt explain clearly. Does anyone know a route to get in for free?

  1. I don't think there is a completely free way to get in. If you go through CNE, you'll have to pay for the admission to CNE and then you can go to Ontario Place without paying extra for Ontario Place.

If you go directly to Ontario Place you'll have to pay admission to go in too.

The Lantern Festival is supposed to be extra, but my friends tell me you can be in Ontario Place before the Lantern Festival and "hide" until it opens.

  2. Last year my family went to Ontario Place and we got into the Chinese Lantern Festival for free as well. Now I'm not sure, but what I remember is that we went to the water log ride near the back of the park and on our way out, we took a different route out of Adventure Island. There is a passageway through bushes and trees which takes you out to the rest of the park, but before coming out completely, there is a small bridge you can cross and it will take you directly into the Chinese Lantern Festival. Judging by this map below, it seems as though it might be the small bridge between Adventure Island and Marina Village.

BTW, If it rains while your there, you and your friends can get a Guaranteed Weather Pass and go in for free another day.
