Yes, RJ Umberger is my next door neighbor and Wayne Gretzky lives across the street.

Yes, I do know an NHL player on the Leafs he is a really good friend.

Yes I work with a former Penguin. Dave Hannan. He was traded to Pittsburgh from Edmonton back in the early 90's.

Dave works for one of my companies biggest competitors in the Orthopedic artificial joint industry.

I also know Mark Grace broadcaster of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He used to play for the Cubs before joining Arizona. My boss has a best friend that is a golf pro in Arz.This best friend of my boss is really good friends with Grace and they golf together all of the time. I met Mark last year when Arz. came to Pitt to play the Pirates. I got to hang out with him in the VIP room at Hightops Sports Ba

Also one of the other competitive reps that i work with played for the Sabres. His first name is Mark and i forget his last name at this time.He owns his own Orthopedic implant company. There are a ton of ex college/professional players in my line of work.I also work with Brian Simmons who had a brief stint with the Chicago Whitesox.I work side-by-side to 2 ex Pitt Panthers Football players. One of them blocked for Dorsett.

I can't forget Russ Grimm of the Wash Redskins. He graduated from my High School and my dad used to coach him in softball

I know a future Vancouver Canuck, Patrick White from Grand Rapids, Minnesota.  He plays for the U of Minnesota Golden Gophers now.

ok I know you only asked for NHL but I might as well brag a little

In hockey :

1- have played hockey with : Bobby Clarke, Andre Lacroix, Steve Dykstra

2- have met : Everett Sanipass (he's a personal friend) as well as Cory Stillman, spoken with many CHL players, a few of whom are friends.

3- potentially future NHLer : Maxim Mathieu, Kim St Pierre (Kimmer is a personal friend, have known her since she was at cegep Andre-Laurendeau in 1997)

In football :

1- have met : Ken Stabler, Matt Turk

2- have played against : Amani Toomer (we went to the same "junior high school" in California)

In soccer :

1- have met : Michel Platini (#10 on France's national team in the 1980s)

2- have played against : Amani Toomer (he was a d**n good goalie !!)

In baseball :

1 - have met : Gary Carter, Tommy John, Reggie Jackson, Rheal Cormier, Will Clark, Diego Segui

In basketball :

1- have met : Tim Hardaway

In lacrosse :

I haven't met anyone yet, but I do have a pretty cool story from a Sabres game with my best friend & her parents. We were all wearing our Sabres clothes, & her dad Chris had on his jersey(I can't remember if it was Stafford or Vanek). anyways, during intermission some random guy  came & pulled him down onto the ice along with a couple other people & they started playing "musical chairs". the winner would get a plasma TV, a signed shirt, & get to meet one of the Sabres. Chris almost won, but the girl basically threw him off the chair so she could win. haha but he still got to meet a couple guys.

met Wendell Clark. I gotta skate at the ACC during the lockout season and Wendell was signing autographs. they rented out the arena. the funny part is I'm not a Leafs fan!
