I know Tralee is somewhat close but it's a bit far. Does anyone know any areas outside of killarney that would be cheaper to reside in but within walking or biking distance to Killarney town center?

  1. There are,but in reality you would need a car. When I first moved to Ireland I lived in Dromin,Fossa, which is 4 miles outside Killarney town center with no car,and I found it an absolute nightmare getting into town and back. Then I moved to Muckross which is around 3 miles to Killarney town center, there were alot more things I could do and see out in Muckross, but again going in and out of town was also a nightmare with no car.Honestly your best bet is to look for shared accommodation in town and use you bike for going to places on the weekend, whether it's going to Muckross abbey,Muckross House,Ross castle,or for a swim on the Killareny lakes in the summer.

I have heaps of friends that live in shared accommodation in Killarney town center. They pay around 60 to 70 Euro a week for their room.To find the best accommodation I recommend that you get the Killarney advertiser. It's free, and it's comes out on Friday's.You best bet on finding one as every one in Killarney wants one is to go into the Statoil on Park road,or any of the shops surrounding Park road and ask for one if you don't see any on the counters as alot of the shop keepers have them under the counters.

I know you will have a fab time living there.I lived in Killarney for 14 years and loved every second of it.

  2. there is at least 4 walking/biking trips to and from killaney idid 2  about 30 k or more well worth doing these intsead ofgoing back to trallee which are breathing  should be some sites bord falite is main site

  3. kilarney is in county kerry which is on the west coast, which is known for being quite remote. try google earth tho

  4. Killorgan is the nearest Town Famous for the Puck Fair in July or August about 17 Miles out on the Road to Dingle in Westwards Direction.  Kenmare is the next nearest Town in the other Direction Heading Southwards about 25 Miles. This is a Tiring Journey /17 and 25 miles/ I Cycled around Killarney one Year, but I wasnt in any Hurry and found it Tiring unless your Steven Roche or whats hisname Kelly it is a long Commute unless your mad into Bikes. There is an awful lot of little Hamlets near Killarney that you could possibly Rent a House in or better still Buy .

Lok up Sherry Fitzgerald .ie  or Daft .ie for Houses to Buy or Rent in Killarney District like for instance Aghadoe, Drom, Barraduff, Kilcummin, Beaufort, Kilgobnet, Glenfesk. Bearing  in mind that this Area is Mountainous so find out where it is situated first, best to go to these places with House  Estate Agent and view the Property. Is it near Shops or is it Isolated, is it beside a Town. Good Luck wish I was moving there myself.
