Does anyone know any charity shops in edinburgh that would take a sofabed?

The fire safety 1988 tag thing has been ripped off unfortunately.

  1. Charity shops are getting very choosy these days..they wont take electrical or anything too big...if your tag has gone I think they will refuse it...

    I have put unwanted good items in my back lane with a note on...free to anyone that wants it and found they went within 1/2 hour

  3. I am positive that no Charity Shop will accept your sofa without the Fire Retardant Tag. You can't even use them in rented property without the tag.

    Your best bet to get rid of it is to phone the Council and request a special uplift. You are allowed one free uplift every year (up to 6 items) or if you have already had an uplift it will cost £17.

    You could post the item on Freecycle, there is an Edinburgh group, someone may want it.
