The only hostel I colud find online is Waterford Hostel on manor street from www.hostels.com. The phone number is 00353 51 850163.

I am from Waterford so I have never had the need to stay in a hostel here, can't say if this place is nice or a dump.

I can tell you that Manor street is right beside the night life. It is across from Harveys bar and Muldoons late night bar. If you want a more relaxed young pub you can try for Geoffs. They are all very close.

As for sightseeing in Waterford. The city walls are very near the hostel and you will see lots of medieval buildings. (Don't know if you are US or Oz, will not impress if you are European; medieval stuff everywhere). We have Christchurch cathedral, Reginald's tower is cool (watch out for the cannonball in the walls), the Granary Museum is worth a look if you are into history. You can also check out the Garter Lane Arts Centre as they usually have plays or exhibitions on. Also you can go for a tour of the Waterford Crystal factory and see how they hand blow the glass (really interesting if you haven't seen it before). Waterford Crystal could be a good one because it may be closed down the next time you get here again.
