  1. Last one I enjoyed was "Chicken Hawk"

  2. I like "ambush alley" and "blood makes the grassgrow green". both are funny and have lots of action.

    also bravo two zero

  4. Well, "Band of Brothers" and "Black Hawk Down" are well known because of Hollywood. So is "We Were Soldiers Once...And Young." I read them before Hollywood got ahold of them and the books are better and more informative.

"To h**l and Back" is a good book too. It is Audie Murphy's autobiography.

"Thieves of Baghdad" is another good one.

"Lone Survivor: Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10" is real good too.

  5. I really enjoyed "Black Hawk Down".

I'm not speaking of just the movie either.

  6.   You seem to be attached to Marine Corps stories and history.  There are a half dozen books out there about Carlo Hathcock, but if you have read one you have read them all.

If you are more into the history of the Marine Corps and less into individual stories about just a few, i would recommend that you get USMC A Complete History.  It starts in the year 1775 and takes you all the way to the Gulf wars.  It details the most minute happenings even the date of each occurrence.

  7. My husband liked Generation Kill and Gates of Fire.

Gates of Fire is on the Commandant's reading list.

  8. Well there is always the Commandant's Reading List

It depends on what you are interested in:  history, historical fiction, battlefield description, tactics, etc....   I read "The Ribbon Creek Incident"  and it gave me a lot of insight into how much and most importantly WHY boot camp has changed in the last 50 years.  Most everything in the military history section of the bookstore is good, but I recommend reading a few pages of a book before you get it because some of them are fairly difficult and aren't good for a nice relaxing read.

  9. I liked The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell. The Killer Angels is good. Visions From a Foxhole.
