Does anyone know any good activities to help learn students names?

i started a new job at a daycare working with 3-5 year olds. i am trying to learn the students names. does anyone know any good songs, games, activities etc to help me learn the childrens' names?

START WITH NAME TAGS OR U CAN HAVE THEM WRITE THEIR NAME ON A PEICE OF PAPER AND PUT THE NAME THAT THEY WULD LIKE TO BE CALLED ON THE OTHER SIDE OR U CAN ALSO PLAY THIS CLAPPING GAME WHERE U SAY YOUR NAME AND SOMETHING YOU LIKE TO DO BUT MAKE YOUR NAME AND THAT THING START WITH THE SAME LETTER AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP CLAPPING WHILE UR DOING IT OR YOU CAN DO A DANCE WHEN U SAY UR NAME

You can memorize their name this way:

You can memorize their name's first character and something that he/she like it.

For example he's name is Sharon and he's shy.They are same in "sh".You remember shy and then her name.You can do like this for others.

Name tags will do; on their dresses, chairs, cups or plates, anything that the child uses or own.  You can also have children memorized the first letter in their names, so when you call out letters they come forward and they shall tell their names. Play it with music.

i remember WAY BACK IN THE DAY a teacher i had had us do a letter hunt.  every child had a peice of paper that had each letter of the alphabet or two and each child had to ask their classmates certain ?'s

like there is a girl in the room who has the letter "z" in her name who is it.

or you could do a circle time and pertaining to the alphabet say ?'s like raise your hand if you have the letter "E" in your first name....90% will then from there every child has to tell you how many "E"'s and say their name to the class.

I was a preschool teacher and in order to learn their names we use to sing "name, name, what's in a name? I have a name and you have a name....what's your name?" and I would point to a child and they would say their name and then the whole class would say "good morning (name)"

Also, make a display with Velcro, like an apple tree, and put the children's names on apples and every morning before you start reading play the game "who is here today?" pick up and apple and show it to the class and call out the name. If the child is there they will stand up and put the apple on any piece of Velcro that's on the tree. It's good for name recognition and spelling and helps you learn their names.

The "Name Game" Gather children in a circle.

While passing around a beanbag or small ball, sing "Hello (child's name) how are you? who is sitting next to you? The child passes to next child. child says his name. Repeat song until everyone has had a turn. This is a good way for children to learn each other's names, especially at the beginning of the school year or whenever there are new children.
