Does anyone know any good books for a book club?

Question

for people around the age of 23, and for men and women both? I need some ideas!!! We're pretty open to anything.

'The Time-Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger.

'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini.

'Three Cups of Tea' by Greg Mortenson.

'The Last Lecture' by Randy Pausch.

'Memoirs of a Geisha' by Arthur Golden.

'Spot of Bother' by Mark Haddon.

'Anansi Boys' and 'Neverwhere' by Neil Gaiman.

'Kindness of Strangers' by Katrina Kittle.

'Next Thing on My List' by Jill Smolinski.

Some of them may seem a little chick-lit like,

but they are still really good novels :)

These are more girly but I just finished reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter & Sundays at Tiffany's. Both are very good in my opinion but you will probably have more to discuss with the first one.

try the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire. The play is based on it, but the book is alot more political & serious. amazing story & very good for discussing the ideas involved. one of the best books ive ever read!!!

The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind is a great series that tells a in depth story involving both sides of magic. The first book in the series, called Wizard's First Rule really captured my imagination and made me want to read more and Im usually a historical romance reader.Also any books by Anne MCaffery or Piers Anthony would also be great ideas for a book club for adults in their early 20's.

Honestly, you could try the Harry Potter series. It is a very interesting set of books and a quantity of points and arguments can be brought up not only on the content, but also what you feel on the author, J.K. Rowling philosophy she seemed to put in her books. It has already made a open discussion on many topics on the internet, real life across the world by many people of various races.

a) Don't read Twilight.

b) Harry Potter is a suggestion that should be taken seriously. Seriously.

c) Life of Pi is phenomenal, by Yann Martel. So is Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's (infinitely better than the movie!). The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. And if you're looking for classics (and the men aren't too manly) Mansfield Park. SO much better than any other Jane Austen book. Or perhaps Water for Elephants. Excellent book. The Road, by Cormac McCarthy is also very good. It is full of juicy talking points. Actually, I would say The Road is my #1 suggestion.
