  1. Im on a track team now what you should do is every now and then go to the weight room. Then on weekends go on 30 or 45minute runs with a group of people. ALso do a lot of situps, pushups, and squats.

  2. BR gave a great answer i'll just add that you should do a VERY light workout the day before a meet so you can rest. oh yes, off season if you want to change it up then you can bicycle, it really can build your leg muscles

  3. It all depends on what even you want to run. If you are a miler I would recommend doing speed work and endurance work. IF you have easy access to a track i would do a track workout on mondays (400x6 or 400,600,800,600,400,200,200) tuesday go for an easy recovery run (30 mins easy) wednesday do a 3 mile tempo run at 30 seconds slower than goal pace for the 1 mile thursday another easy recovery day (30 mins easy) and friday do a long run 5-7 miles. This work out will help you with the speed and endurance needed to be a competitive track runner. Good luck.

Oh yea and NO ELLIPTICAL it will not help running!!!

  4. ELIPTICAL MACHINE!  It changed my life lol.
