I'm young, bored, and have loads of free time. I spend on average about 4 hours a day on my laptop just watching animes. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good Harem animes. I have watched animes like Love Hina, Kanon 2006 series, and Ichigo 100% anything along those lines would be great!

  6. I'm not a big harem type anime fan so i'm not sure which one you would actually consider good but here are some i've either watched, appreciated or liked:

    Vandread

    (I appreciated it)

Set in a universe where men and women are completely segregated (on completely different planets: Mejere by the women, Taraak by the men), the gender wars are more than just a metaphor.

Male protagonist Hibiki Tokai, a third-class laborer, takes up a bet to steal a high-tech humanoid robot, known as a Vanguard, from the male attack force battleship about to fight the "evil females". Caught on board when it takes off, they got stuck on board and held as prisoners with female pirates all around.

In this alternate, futuristic universe, men and women consider each other to be completely separate species (Hibiki gains the nickname "Mr. Alien" from Dita Liebely, the female protagonist), and the three men put up with much abuse at the hands of their female captors, but gradually make their presence accepted: Hibiki as a mecha fighter and technician, Duelo as a skilled doctor and engineer, and Bart as the ship's helmsman and navigator.

    Tenchi Muyo

    (i appreciated it)

Tenchi Masaki may be a 17-year-old young man in rural Japan, but little does he know how bad his day will be getting. When a space pirate chased by a pair of Galaxy Police officers crash-lands at his grandfather's temple, Tenchi is sucked into a new adventure that will literally blast him off into outer space and beyond.

    Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure

    (I enjoyed it)

Kazuki Yotsuga is a high school student who is shunned by other students as an otaku, in part because of his web site, where he describes battles between giant robots that only he can see, but mostly because he is occasionally seen by the other students reacting to their "presence".

One day, the most popular girl in school, Mitsuki Sanada, approaches him to tell him that she shares his interest in the stories he writes about. But this turns out to only be a ruse, however, as she proceeds to lure him to her house where her father wishes to study Kazuki for his research on parallel worlds. Dr. Sanada wishes to study Kazuki because his presence confirms his research on parallel worlds, and soon employs him as pilot for his giant robots after discovering that the boy was able to use them.

    El Hazard

    (i watched it)

The story focuses on four people from our world (High school students Makoto Mizuhara, Katsuhiko Jinnai and Nanami Jinnai, and History teacher Masamichi Fujisawa) who are mysteriously transported to the fantastical world of El-Hazard, which is threatened with a massive war between the human nations on one side and the insectoid Bugrom tribe on the other. To add further complexity, the quartet's transportation has a side effect, in that each of them gains a unique special ability. For instance, Katsuhiko gains the power to communicate with the Bugrom, and subsequently uses his power to become the Bugrom's military leader while his sister can see through illusions. The hard-drinking, chain-smoking Fujisawa, on the other hand, gains superhuman strength and athletic ability, but only when he's sober. Makoto's power comes much later but he learns he can control the ancient technology of that world which range from minor gadgets to the most powerful weapons.

    Saber Marionette J

    (i enjoyed it)

300 years before the beginning of the story, the human colony ship Mesopotamia suffered a major disaster which killed almost everyone on board. Six men escaped using an emergency pod and managed to land on the surface of the planet. With no means to return or contact Earth, they decided to colonize the planet using genetically modified clones of themselves.

However their equipment was not able to produce female clones from male genetic material, which resulted in an all-male population. To substitute for women, Terra II's inhabitants created marionettes, robots which physically resemble females and fill their role in society, mostly as companions for men. Yet, they are completely devoid of personality and sentient behavior, thus they are mostly regarded as objects and status symbols. Marionettes are also used as general-purpose robots, given tasks such as heavy-labor and combat duty.

The main character of the story is Otaru Mamiya, a regular boy from the country of Japoness whose life is changed by finding Lime (and eventually Cherry and Bloodberry). The three of them are radically different from regular marionettes in that they act on their own free will and seem to have their own full personalities. The three of them also become quite infatuated with Otaru and constantly compete for his affection, giving some trouble to the boy who doesn't really know what to do with three so unusual marionettes.
