Grade level 6-8

Very intermediate learning, an example would be global warming, something that affects us today. I cant use that example though. Anything else that is interesting and involves using the scientific method. nothing too hard, please.

  1. Some I found online (you would need to pick & choose/ adapt):

    http://www.create.cett.msstate.edu/creat...

    http://www.chariho.k12.ri.us/faculty/kkv...

    http://school.discoveryeducation.com/tea...

    http://www.pacificnet.net/~mandel/Scienc... (Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles)

  2. Copy a bunch of fake checks that a couple has filled out.  Then have the students reach in and pick out three checks and they have to write about the couple.  Then have them pick one more and see if it fits what they had written already or if they need to adjust.

  3. You could actually just have the students engage in a scientific experiement.

Search online for scientific method.  I would look up physical science activities for this grade level.  Topics like pressure, density, and Newton's laws are always fun.
