What are some good home remedies for trying to concieve? I have two daughters and my husband has none. But we are ready to have another. I heard from some that taking prenatal vitamins, and folic acid was good. I think that also I am a little over weight - and that excersizing and getting healthy was the best way. Experts have said that preparing your body to carry a baby helps alot. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanx.

  1. one that's rarely known about but i found out about it have your hubby stop eating potato chips or anything else with cottonseed oil in it because's it's basically like a male birth control

  2. It's crazy...here you are, trying your hardest to get pregnant..and then on Yahoo answers, you see 13 year olds posting  questions about how they became pregnant, whether they should or should not have the baby, and how they're so scared because their parents are going to find out and the kicker is...they weren't even trying to get pregnant in the first place!

It's almost a joke, really. Just as a little story, My husband and I tried to conceive for a while year. Last year around Thanksgiving time, it finally happened. I think it wasn't happening for a whole year because I was stressing so much over it. I kept thinking about the baby. I kept counting days, researching my ovulation charts, reading about all kinds of crazy methods to conceive a child. I had baby on the brain. Finally in November last year, I gave up. I had a move to think about. I had to pack things, clothes, furniture...had to get an apartment, start paying new bills with my husband, make a road trip to our new state..things were hectic and I forgot about baby-making, and somewhere around that time, it happened. I think when you are anticipating a child, your body isn't going to respond only because of how the stress hormones are high even though you don't know it. And this can even put your cycle off. It sucks, really. I have some really helpful sites for you though..you should check them out:

Good luck..I know it's so freakin frustrating...but it will happen. Like I said, we tried for a year..now I'm 37 weeks and almost ready to say Hello to my own little one. I do wish you the best.

  3. Personally find out ur partners fetish. Try day in and day out. Try different positions or things. For example my husband really likes to see me wet myself, it turns him on and we have great s*x. I got pregnant first time. Thats when we were trying of course. But yeah just try every little moment or give ur partner viagra.

  4. Start prenatal vitamins ASAP!!  They say at least 3 months before ttc, but new research is saying a year is even better.  Getting in shape, no drinking, no smoking, limit caffeine.  Also start tracking your bbt to check when you ovulate so once you start trying you can target the correct days each month.  Good luck to you!

  5. The prenatals and exersizing are really great things to do, so good job!

The only other things I would reccomend:

Have 3 servings of dairy a day. I've heard that full fat dairies (like cheeses and ice cream that aren't low fat) are the best, but I just used low fat.

Use Pre-Seed! It is a sperm friendly personal lubricant. www.preseed.com

I know you can order it online, but I was able to do a search and find a local apothecary shop that sold it, so I didn't have to wait or pay for shipping.

Also, relax, stay positive, and have fun trying!

Good luck to you and BABY DUST!!!!

  6. I went to my dr and this is what she told me:

Take prenatal vitamins, track your ovulation time with the basil body temp and use the ovulation test sticks... along with telling the difference in your discharge. Once you figure out if your cycle is normal or if your ovulating then baby dance right before you ovulate because the sperm stays alive up to 72 hours waiting for the egg but the egg is only good for 12-24 hrs.

After you baby dance stay laying down or slightly raise your pelvis (a pillow under you) or something like that to help the sperm get where its going. I'm not sure if this one actually works or if its a myth but it seems like it would help it out a little.

Good luck and baby dust to us!!
