My Grandfather died yesterday morning, and he was always so proud of me when I played my cello at a school concert. I've been playing for 3 years now. Do you have any suggestions on good song to play at a funeral? (And I'm not talking about songs like "Big Bang the Wicked Witch is Dead".) I already have the sheet music for the song "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill with the music accompaniment. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. God bless you.

P.S.: If you play violin or viola, and have sheet music for a soloist with the music accompaniment, could you send it to me? My e-mail is te.amo_mas@yahoo.com. I could transcribe the sheet music from treble or alto clef to bass clef. Thanks again.

  1. amazing grace

  2. Get the Hymnal.  If your grandfather attended church, use that Hymnal

    Did he have a favoprite.

Play the melody line first and last time through.  on a middle verse play the tenor line.

Make sure the piano does not play to loud.

    Amazing Grace

    How Great Thou Art

Just a Closer walk with Thee.

On the Wings of an Eagle.

  3. Wind Beneath My Wings

    is another good song

  4. Let It Be buy the Beatles would be awesome!...for a funeral.

  5. Weeping Willows by The Hush Sound, Those You've Known from Spring Awakening, Without You or Finale B from Rent. I'm not sure where you'd find sheet music for these for the cello, but good luck.
