  4. A lot of really good movies listed here!

    Also:

    Ghost Story (older, 1981)

The Orphanage (new, DVD release date is April 22nd...Indy film that got great reviews!)

    EDIT:

    More:

    Rose Red (Stephen King)

Diary of Ellen Rimbauer (prequel to Rose Red)

    The Grudge (creepy!)

    Psycho (1960)

Carrie (Stephen King, movie version of his 1st published novel)

    Nightmare on Elm Street

House on Haunted Hill (I definitely prefer the original 1959 version. The newer 1999 version is not so good but still worth a look, I guess)

Return To House on Haunted Hill (2007, I haven't seen this one but some say it's better than '99's)

Misery (1990, another Stephen King story...not supernatural but Kathy Bates' character is REALLY scary!!)

btw, 'The Shining' IS awesome!! (also Stephen King...really can't go wrong with him!).

Note that the Stanley Hotel in Colorado was King's inspiration for the story. It is known to be haunted. Bits of the tv mini-series were actually filmed there but not the movie:

  5. I like when movies are based on true story....

This one is had to fine....only on VHS tape. I thought it was very interesting because It's base on some of what I have experienced.....Out On A Limb, Shirley Maclane.

The Mothman prophecies... base on true events

Dragon Fly... Kevin Costner... base on true events

    Others movies...

    Ghost... Patrick Swayze

    Michael... John Travolta

    FLATLINERS...Kevin Bacon

  6. Rose Red and The Amittyville Horror are movies !! Rose Red is a house that Mr. Rimbauer built for his 20 year old wife , Ellen ( He was 40 ). The house was built on a Indian burial ground . After Ellen's death (1950) , in 2001 , Joyce Reardon has a expatiation w/ psychs in Rose Red . The movie was interesting and amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Most of my faves are already mentioned except

Stephen King's The Stand and The Last Green Mile

    Did anyone mention Phenomenon?

    Meet Joe Black

Old ones,The Birds, Village of the Damned, in black and white

  8. the seventh sign

  9. the exorcist movies

    The poltergeist movies

    an american haunting

  10. Yes...FREQUENCY...Don't miss it! It's not a scary movie..but it's the kind that make you cry...or at least you can sense the paranormal more through it. Hope you'll watch it. Jim Caviezel is in it (the one  who played Jesus in The Passion) It's not a new movie...You can  probably  rent it off the older movies section at Blockbuster or where ever you rent movies.

Edit ...If you can handle "oldies"...The Day the Earth Stood Still is really good...if you like UFOs. And there's "The Thing"...it was just on Sci Fi tonight..but it's the newer version and not as good as the original. Of course Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  I think they've already named any others I could think of. Oh.."Always" was really good. But I guess you like the creepy, scarey kind. These aren't those kind.

  11. Most of my favorites, kaliluna already mentioned.

Here are two more I would recommend:

    The Uninvited (1944)

    Dog Soldiers

  12. The Ten Commandments.  It's always on TV this time of year.  The Wizard of Oz often is, too.

  13. The Shining is my favorite paranormal movie. Awesomely good, Jack Nicholson is really good.
