Question:

Does anyone know any good wishing well poems for a couple living interstate?

Hi,

I'm getting married in Tasmania in a few months but my fiance and I live in QLD. This means that any presents we receive at the wedding will be extremely difficult to transport home.

We've decided to use a Wishing Well but are having trouble finding a good poem to explain the situation. Does anyone know any?

We haven't decided whether we're having a 'well' at the wedding as such or setting up a travel/bank account for it so it'll probably be best not to mention these specifics. We'll add a note later on so people know what to do.

Thanks for your help!

  2. Check out google and write in Wishing well poems, we are having a wishing well as well,

its such a great thing as we are having our wedding overseas!!!

This is what i am having:

    Wishing Well

Because at first we have lived in sin,

we've got the sheets and a rubbish bin.

To save you looking, shopping or buying,

here is an idea we hope you like trying.

A Wishing Well we thought would be great,

but only if you wish to participate.

An envelope of money is placed in the Well,

    then make a wish...but shh don't tell.

Fill it with paper all colours will do,

silver is our favourite but gold will do.

Now we have saved you all of that fuss,

we hope you will come and celebrate with us.

    My favorite:

"Because at first we lived in sin

We've got the sheets and a rubbish bin

A gift from you would be swell

But we'd prefer a donation to our Wishing Well!!"

  4. It's abit long but just cut it where you want to.

    Whilst in a foreign land,

(Brides Name) had many adventures grand,

None of which could ever compare,

    To the wonderful love

That she and (Grooms Name) share.

    The couple will marry

    whilst travelling once more,

    And her family shall come

    to foreign shore.(Bride) and (Groom)

    have considered the options,

    as guests bearing gifts,

    will come to considerable exertions.

    And the airline restrictions

    will also apply,

to the bride and the groom

    when home they must fly.

In the place of a gift

    With traditional style,

    A paper gift would

    bring many a smile.

A gift of paper has many a meaning,

    it may be cash,

or a voucher for their favourite store,

the promise of a special favour,

    Whenst the couple return

    to settle into their lives

    as husband and wife.

    Many thanks for your consideration,

    in receiving this request,

    as surely you will realise

    It's definitely for the best.
