There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'.

It is really hard to find work to do from home. Your best bet is to find an actual corporation that will allow you to do a job from your home office. That is really hard to do sometimes.

I have been looking myself, as a single mother of 2, and all i have come across is scams and pyramid schemes. Its even hard to sell on Ebay now because the format has changed.

While you are pregnant you can mystery shop. Be careful of the sites that require money...THEY ARE SCAMS. There are a lot of legit companies that you can register with and they will email you listings in your area. The only bad thing is most of the time they dont pay much and with gas prices this high it usually isnt worth the cost. I think the name of one of the legit companies is Kern Scheduling. Just Yahoo! search it.

The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

I know a few different people who work from home. There's a lot of  different ways you can work from home.  Each way would determine on how much income you need to make.

1) Survey's-which require a lot of time and the pay out is extremely low

2) Home jobs-which same amount of time in a traditional job with the same minimum wage pay.

3) Home based businesses-the income opportunity is the same as a tradtional business without all the over head expenses.  but if you don't work your business,you won't make any money.

So with these things in mind what income level are you wanting to make working from home?
