I get bored with the taste of salad...Im watching what I eat and that includes what I put on my salad. Some salad dressings are FILLED w/ calories. I was just wondering if their were any salad dressings that you can make at home that dont come with two many calories. I also just would like a new taste.

  1. my husbandlikes to eat his lettuce and stuff with just plain lime and salt. its actually pretty good.

  2. I recommend you DILL MUSTARD SAUCE

75 ml plain yoghurt (1/3 cup)

    75 ml cottage cheese

    2 tbsp chopped fresh dill

7 ml dijon mustard (1 and a half tsp)

In a food processor or blender, combine all of them and process until smooth.

    (Calories per 1 tbsp/15 ml: 11)

  3. Whisk balsamic vinegar with some olive oil, juice from 1 lemon, and 1 clove of crushed garlic.  You can also add some oregano, basil, parsley, if you like.  There is fat from the olive oil, but it's good fat, and you can adjust the amount of oil you put in.

  4. If you use olive oil, red or white wine vinegarette, you can add whatever spices you like.  I like a little lemon juice, garlic, basil, salt/pepper.  You can add a pinch of sugar if it's too zesty.  (Italian blend seasoning for an italian meal, dill weed for a fish meal, etc.)

Let is set for a few hours (or over night if you can) to let the spices flavor the oil mixture.

It's good to use olive oil because it's sooo good for you.  It improves memory, skin, and lowers cholesterol!

  5. yes,   I have the best one of all,     nothing,,,,,,,just salad, it tastes great and is not fattening at all

  6. I like cranberry vinaigrette or raspberry walnut vinaigrette.  They are both commercially available by several companies, including Newman's Own.  When I make my own vinaigrette, I mix a flavored vinegar, a small amount of olive oil or sesame oil, and spices.  I play around with the amounts and ingredients quite a bit trying to find the right mixture, so it is always a new taste.
