I was outside grilling and saw a spider i had never seen before...it was bright green with purple wavy stripes going lengthwise down its body from its head down to the end. There were only 2 stripes, and i have never seen anything like it around! I live in MA...does anyone have any information about this spider or even just a name? thank you in advance!!

  1. Hmm, I've seen these too when I lived in Springfield.  Although the kind I saw had purple spots not stripes.  But I think it they might belong to the same family, and if they are then it is a Green Lynx.

  2. "Garden Spiders" are common enough, they usually have bright green w/ striped markings.

    The females get huge.

  3. Many names and guide to ID them -
