  1. Well I just posted something about a silent auction I am hosting.  I am 21 yr old, my mom is bedridden with Multiple Sclerosis.  Now that I am of age where I can help raise money, etc.,  I help with the MS Society as much as I can.  My mom has been bedridden with the disease since I was 10 so I missed out on alot of fun mom and kid things, going to the pool, amusement parks, baseball games, etc..  Not only does the MS Society put money into research, paying for medical supplies for those who need help paying for them (diapers, disease can make you become incontinent, wheelchairs, walkers, $$ towards wheelchair acces. van)  They also have programs for people like me, at least when I was the age to participate.  Where they would come and pick us up (kids whose parents have MS) and take us to places for the day, the zoo, aquarium, park, pool, etc...  You would be amazed on what I didn't miss out on that I would have if it was not for the MS Society.  I am always raising $$ for the MS Society.  Right now it is for a 50 K walk I am doing in Sept.  Here is the link to my page.  Or you can donate to them directly.

  2. im not really sure about organizations. But every now and then when I have some extra money,  I send someone money.   A few months ago I went to this resturant and heard the waitress talking about not  being able to get her kid new shoes for school.

A few days later I went to the manager and asked him to give the waitress a card that I had put some money in.   She never knew who did it either!  Mwahahaha!

so you could always do something like that.

  3. Habitat for Humanity is a great organization.

  4. These are organizations I give to:

    CARE

    http://www.care.org

They are focused on women and girls -- the people who are most negatively affected by poverty, conflict, climate change, etc.

    MADRE

    http://www.madre.org

This is a smaller organization, based in the USA, that works through small NGOs in the developing world to help women and girls.

    KIVA

    http://www.kiva.org

This organization profiles people in developing countries starting microenterprises (tiny businesses), and your donation is used as a loan to help whatever group *you* choose.
