  1. Well you could try www.lulu.com but you will have to pay the production cost and postage which can be quite steep. However you upload and edit the work yourself.

Good luck it's sooooo difficult!  :)

  2. Trying going to your local library and ask if there are any poetry contests available. Sometimes they give you the oppourtunity to publish your works if you win or submit a good entry. Don't randomly search for them online though, because there are lots of scams.

[for example, poetry(dot)com, is a scam site.]

You can also pick up some magazines for literature and see if they allow readers to submit their own works.

    Good luck [=

  3. Lulu.com is self-publishing, which is alright depending on your end goal. But if you want to know for sure if your poetry is worthwhile, then you will have to go publishers with editors. A good place to go to find these publishers, as mentioned by someone else, is the Poet's Market. There is also this wonderful site: www.duotrope.com. It lists nearly every literary print magazine, online literary journal, and literary book and chapbook publishers that have websites. There you can find out about each magazine and press and what they are looking for. It also provides a link to the press or journal. Duotrope also only list legit publishers, the Poet's Market, while a great resource, sometimes lists sketchy publishers.

If you are a beginning poet try Byline, a print journal, or Centrifugal Eye, an online journal. If you are looking to get a book published, you should first try to get all the poems in your book first published in journals. This way you will know if your poems are significant enough for a book manuscript, it generates an audience for you, and it lets the editor at the press know that your name is getting around as well as knowing where to advertise the book, should it get accepted.

And remember, you should never pay to get published, and you should always be paid, even if in contributor copies, which is the most frequent form of payment. And always follow the publisher's submission guidelines.

  4. I've been writing and publishing poetry for over 15 years. Most poetry is published by magazines known as "little magazines," "literary magazines," "litmags," or even "zines."

Thousands of these little magazines exist all over the world. There are so many of them, and they are all looking for different things. The trick is to find the ones that are looking for the type of poetry you write.

I recommend an excellent reference book called "Poet's Market," which is updated every year. The new one is usually released every autumn. There's a good chance your local library will have a copy, even if it's an old one. Read through the listings in Poet's Market, and you'll begin to see how legitimate poetry publishing works.

    Good luck!

  5. quizilla.com

In one minute, about eight people read my poem and rated it. People love poetry and with an interesting title, you can get a lot of readers. Quizilla is getting popular so this is where you can get known.

  6. The Poetry Foundation of America received over $100 million from the will of Mrs. Ruth Lilly in 2002. They should be receptive to new poets these days!
