try lygon street, they have the best italian restaurants there. the cakes are superb

la porchetta is very famous for their pizza, large serving and yummy, and not excessively expensive- http://www.laporchetta.com.au/home

another one i would recommend is sofia pizza house on burke road, camberwell, not exactly in the city but they have really good pizzas, and pasta as well.

there are many italian restaurants along lygon street, but i'm not too sure which one's the best, it's worth a try. but i can be sure about the above two places. good luck~
