Does anyone know anyone who labels things?

Ok, so my mom. She'll label things. Like meats in the freezer and writes the date on them so she knows when they will go bad and when to throw them out. She's labeled other things to try and keep them organized. She is 56 years old, hard of hearing, only has a few friends and is friends with co-workers. Sometimes she can be a little off.....or have like a blonde moment...But I love her..She is my Mother!! My fiance thinks it's really weird how she tries to organize everything with her "weird labels" and wants to know if this is what he has to look forward to in the future. But yesterday he just came over and started nit picking about it all and going on and on about it.....and of course I'm gonna get a lil upset ya know....That's My Mom!! I don't go to his house and tell him that stuff his mom does is stupid or retarded. I told him he was being ignorant. And he was like "No, it's not being ignorant it's truthful...it's reality." I'm 21 yrs. old. My parents are old enough to be my grandparents.....His mom is only like 40...I guess his mom and step dad don't get certain things my parents do because they are older and grew up in a different time frame. I dunno.

Are his family the only people who think labeling things is weird or stupid??

Please tell me I'm not alone on this one.

no way! everyone in my family labels things! i don't see whats so wierd about it?

im 19 and i label things, my sister labels my mother, grandparents, uncles, my bf's family, practically everyone i know lol ect.

its just a good way of knowing how old things are, and i dont see why thats so wierd lol

tbh if stuff like that is on top priority of your bf's mind then he really needs to get better stuff to think about. He sounds like a jerk (no offense but really..and if he keeps going on about it like that, then yeah. it is ignorant.) and the age of your parents have nothing to do about it. i went to school with a girl whos parents were like 80 and she was 17. lol...

and just think about it, so your parents waited abit before having you, whats wrong with that? at least they werent like 19/20 years old didnt have their life together. At least they planned ahead and chose to have some stability before rushing into things :)

Your mother was 35 when she had you......which to me seems normal...i'm 35 with a baby.......So your mom makes labels.....So what....it seems pretty sensible to me. Love your parents for who they are, and if you fiance disrespects you by criticizing them again...tell him to stop. If he doesn't stop, maybe its time for a new fiance! Your future husband should show respect to you and your family.
