Question:

Does anyone know anything about Lymes disease testing? Could fibromyalgia really be causing this much pain?

I tested negative twice but I had it when I was young. I'm having these crazy symptoms and my doctor can't find anything wrong. They did say that I had fibromyalgia but I think that may be a catch all since they can't find anything wrong. I have a brand new baby and I can't take care of her and feel this horrible. Before anyone says it I don't feel depressed. My symptoms have gotten worse over the last 8 years.

  1. the blood test for Lyme's disease is very specific, if they say you don't have it, then you don't.

As for fibromyalgia, it is often horrendously painful, and it does progress over time.  Suggest you do some google searches and learn more about figromyalgia, it is a very real diagnosis, by no means a "catch all" for what they cannot figure out.  You may want to see a rheumatologist.

  2. Lymes can be missed in a blood test

Fibro can cause debilitating pain--I was in so much pain I would have consented to amputating my legs----I have had days that I couldn't sit up......
