I'm currently doing an assignment comparing Australia to Zimbabwe, and I am lost. I can't find any information what so ever on the Zimbabwe's careers or the medical/treatments/health care. I would seriously appreciate some help, all i need are the URL's of a few websites and that would be great.

Thanks so Much

  1. Well....that might happen to be something to do with the mess that Mugabe (the current leader of Zimbabwe) has made of it.  Pretty much the country is completely collapsed and is in chaos with everyone starving.  All foreign companies have pulled out.  It all started when he seized all the "white" owned farms and gave them to his friends and ran the "whites" off.  Problem is his friends aren't farmers so the crops failed.  Then the gov seized all businesses and property and it all went downhill from there

It used to be called Rhodesia

Here is a nice like to a bunch on the country

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimbabwe

Pretty much now a smoking hole in the ground, they don't have jobs, health care or food

  2. It has hyperinflation, which means that it has an amazing amount of inflation (over 11,000,000% per year!) They recently released a 15 billion dollar banknote which at the time was enough to buy 3 eggs. Because of inflation, the price of things doubles about every two days so it is common practice to write a check for double the amount owed, because by the time it clears, the price of what you bought will have doubled.

President Mugabe blames hyperinflation and the 80% unemployment rate on sabotage by other countries.

Mugabe tried to do land reforms once (just gave the land to his allies), which basically shot the country's economy to h**l.

    capital = Harare

President = Robert Mugabe (the a*****e you see on the news because he suspended his country's elections so that he can stay in power longer.)

It used to be an British colony called Rhodesia until 1965, when they declared and gained independence without war (Britain was about to give them up anyway.)

Life expectancy for Zimbabwean men is about 40 years.

Zimbabwe is accused of violating many human rights protocols.

Most Zimbabweans live on subsistence farming, barely growing enough to meet their own needs, let alone those of family members, because no one is able to get a real job.

Literacy rate of Zimbabwe is 90%, pretty high for most African countries.

They have basically no health care system.

1 in 4 adults have AIDS.

More people in Zimbabwe have AIDS than have internet access.

Zimbabwe is basically the crappiest place in the world to live.
