Does anyone know anything about asian civilizations? ?

This is why I admire Asia. People assume that Asia has always been this location where technological gadgets and conspicuous architectures resided. This hasn't been the case at all. Rebellion is good, seeing what the Chinese and others had to go through to ensure that their future generations reaped the benefits of their forefathers.

I only hope so much for Africa.

I spent two years serving in the military in South Korea.  I cannot speak for all of Asia based on that, but I do know that Asia is a part of the world deeply rooted in their own culture and ceremony.  Many Asians follow either the Buddhism or Confucianism faith.  These faiths are as old as the Orient itself.  Our western World is also a relative newborn by comparison.  China has been an established country for much longer than most of Europe and definitely America.  So Kipling had good reason to make this statement.
