  1. It's similar to, but much more stressful than being a waiter (the 'restaurant' moves and shakes around from time to time). You have many responsibilities, with rules and regulations to comply with; difficult, ongoing training.

You're also stuck for sometimes many hours or even days with people you don't necessarily like, and vice versa.

There may be the occasional emergency or even life threatening situation to contend with.

Relatively low pay and no tips, but there are some 'perks'.

If and when you eventually get on international routes, you do get to see a few 'foreign' places, especially airports and hotels. You may get some time off to actually explore the cities. Otherwise you wait for your annual vacation and get free or cheap tickets for you and your family.

It's more hard work than glamour.

  2. If you are really intered in becoming a flight attendent contact the air-line of your choice for more information.  Also talk to friends, neighbors, relatives etc. who are already in this field for an honest evaluation of exactly what is involved in this field.  They will give you the pros and cons.

The airlines are in trouble and are cutting back on personnel.

Are you sure this what you really want to do?  Job Security?
