I remember there are a few videos of various old hospitals on the paranormal / ghost hunting sites. Some - very impressive.

I would say without doubt that it will be haunted.

My partner is an ex-ward manager (used to be called matron) - she saw and heard a number of things when she was working. One was a lady that used to rattle around in peoples side cupboards. Patients kept complaining ! - How could she say - sorry, that was the ghost of an old lady that died recently. She ws known to the staff.

There were a lot of mental hostitals in the 1800's. This is mainly due to the use of mercury for treating deseases and industrially. It was used in hat making - hence the name mad as a hatter.
