  1. Nusco is a village, near 4500 inhabitants on Appennini mountains, Avellino province, Campania region (the region of Napoli). It started like simple 'castrum' (Roman fort) in the VII/VIII century, and it seems that the original name was referred to the word 'mùschio' (moùs-kee-oh) (moss), then dialectally corrupted in Nusco. The 'castrum' was build to supervise the two valleys dominated by it, Ofanto river valley and Calore river valley. Today is a little and quiet village, rich of history, at 914 on the sea level. Around it there's a great part of the Italy's history, Avellino , Napoli, the Vesuvio volcan, Pompei and Ercolano, the Appennini Mountains with their beauties, Paestum and their temples, the great and beautiful coast of Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, and the isles of Capri and Ischia. I hope this you helped. Ciao.
