when i was younger i used to collect these cards like it was my job. i now have hundreds of them and would like to consider selling. is there still a market for them? i have many cards that are run-of-the-mill though they are from older editions. i also have a few rarer cards. how do i about assessing a huge collection like this? is there a price guide of some sort i can look for to identify my individually valuable cards and price them appropriately?

please share any anecdotes you have about selling your cards. thanks.

  1. I recommend getting a "Scry" magazine to find out the value each card.  Also, look into ebay to see the value as well.  And if you sell them in bulk you will lose money in the long run, rather you would be better off selling them off as singles and sure you will not sell them all the time but people also look for certain cards.

  2. First, refer to www.motl.com and Scrye magazine for a rough estimate of how much your collection is worth.

If you have valuable cards, you may want to visit http://www.mtgsalvation.com and register for an iTrader account. If you do, kindly refer yourself to a trader like PriestsofGix, who will gladly take your entire collection off you for a better price than you will find in most stores.

If you just want to be rid of your entire collection, and you don’t want to bother with getting the most out of your collection, visit a store and offer to sell it to them. You won’t get a great price, however, it will be more convenient for you. I suggest you visit MtgSalvation – it’s worth the trouble.

    Hope that Helped!

  3. For the most current info for price guides go to www.findmagiccards.com and type in the names of your cards.

Selling your cards on ebay is the best way to go.

  4. I got a book that gave me the value of each card.  I then sold the most expensive ones individually and the run of the mill ones I grouped together and sold as sets.  It worked out very well.  I went to the local comic book store where they hold games and sold a few there and then the rest I put on E-bay.  Good luck.  These were my husbands cards he threw them away when he moved out and I figured someone would want them.  I gave him 1/2 the money I got he said he never realized how much they were worth.  :)

  5. I will check with my son he had a suitcase full of those cards.
