  1. a whole heep of meteors come passing by earth . . .

  2. The next meteor shower is the Perseids on August 12, 2008. After the first-quarter moon sets, around 2 a.m., meteors should be more easily visible until dawn. You may see dozens of meteors per hour.

  3. That was last year!  Holy c**p!  You are late!  I just looked it up!

  4. It is not over. You should certainly see several tonight. I was out with the telescope on Saturday, and I saw quite a few. The only relationship that exists between the cloud of debris that makes up the meteor shower and the day / night cycle on Earth is that we pass through it in the direction of the constellation Perseus, which is high in the pre-dawn sky. So that's when you can see them best. But it takes a few days to pass through the entire cloud, so it's probably not over yet. Good Luck!

  5. The Perseid Meteor Shower (PMS) peaked last night, but was visible last week, and will be at least through the coming weekend.

Last night, over a 4 hour period, locally 10 pm to 2 am, i saw 16 Perseid meteors, and 9 non-Perseid meteors.  The Perseids are the ones that can be traced backwards to the Perseus constellation, just below the sideways W of Cassiopeia.  Last Saturday, not really looking specifically for meteors, we saw two non-Perseids and one Perseid, over about an hour, but from a heavily light polluted location (a flood light lit grocery store parking lot in Detroit).  We were mostly observing with a telescope.

  6. Best to see tonight, Aug. 12 and about 2am. Look into the North Eastern

sky anywhere in the US or Canada. Should see one about every minute.

  7. I would like to bring up the theory that there are no such things as meteor showers.  It is all a ploy from the vampires to lure us into the darkness so they can attack under the cover of night to quench their insatiable thirst. The only people who believe they have really seen true meteor showers are those who have been attacked by vampires but were not for their liking.  They were simply brainwashed and thrown back into normal society. For the rest of us, we just see more shooting stars then normal because we are simply looking for them harder.  If we looked hard enough every night we would still see them.  It is no meteor shower. There are no meteor showers.  It's all VAMPIRES.  My step-mom got up last night to look for the meteor showers, but didn't make it past the back porch for fear of the bloodsuckers.  I don't blame her one bit.  We should all be more aware of their existence.

and by the way.... Ben Quapo is stupid.

  8. No

  9. ?

  10. maybe it got held up in a queue

  11. its pretty boring and too many mosquito's, just lay down  in the country away from city lights and look up, you can see meteors every clear night
