Question:

Does anyone know anything about the very large dragon street lamp in Venice Italy?

It looked art nouveau-ish, it was brass and had a colored glass bulb on the bottom. I don't know exactly what calle it was on, but i remember it was between the rialto and st.marks basilica on the corner of a shop.

    Got  there and saw the dragon..though nobody knew about it...it's pretty neat


  2. got it! it is in Rialto at a corner of a shop (it should sell leather accessories such as purses, belts and bags). It is at the entrance of "Mercerie" the street (calle) that leads you to from Rialto to Saint Mark's. In particular it is in Campo San Salvador where a pillar stands (in memory of a historic event occurred when Venetians were under the Austrians -between 1814 and 1866).

  3. Good question - it actually reminded me of an umbrella. There used to be a famous leather goods shop there on that corner. Next time I'm in Venice and in that neighborhood I'll be sure to ask.
