"Actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the reverse of happiness" Where can I find more info on this exact statement?

  1. What kind of information do you want, the statement speaks for itself; it is good to do things that promote happiness and bad to do things that promote unhappiness.  Of course you have to think about how this applies on a wider scale and who it applies to.

  2. Is John Stuart Mill one of the founders of Utilitarianism?

    Perhaps you should just search for Utilitarianism in general, if that is the case.

    Search for "consequentialist  philosophy" "Utilitarianism"... something like that.
