Does anyone know anything about why tourist visas are rejected by the Brazilian consulate? What grounds?

  1. As with most other countries, visa applicants are considered unsuitable if they are deemed to pose a potential burden on the country (financial, social, etc.), or a threat (criminal, terrorist, etc.).  In other words, if you can afford to travel and stay there, act properly, and leave by the time you are required to do so, there should not be a problem.


  2. It can be to reciprocate what another country is doing to it's citizens.

    Due to quotas, visiting numbers, tolls... anything really.

    Best thing is to ask the local consulate/embassy.
