  1. I wonder if it is a musty, mildew smell?? You should go to Target or Walmart and get some of the mildew bags which draws any water or humidity out of your room. The bag will literally fill with water after a day or two. Once the bag is full, you just throw it away. Try that to see if it helps.

  2. Check, maybe there is a leak somewhere.  If not try moth balls.

  3. ~~It may be just a musty closet odor. For any small area deodorizing I use new dryer sheets. Just poke a hole in them and hang a few around your closet on hangers, shelves wherever you want them. They make your clothes smell so fresh and clean. When the scent wears down, you can use them for dusting and put new ones in. Gain dryer sheets are very strong and clean smelling. They are the ones I use in our closets and drawers.~~

  4. If the odor is in the walls you may have to paint them.

  5. There are two suggestions I have for you:

    1. Remove everything from this closet.  Put a container with 1 cup of bleach in the closet and close the door.  Leave for at least 24 hours.  Should absolutely do the trick; or,

    2. Hang a few dryer sheets in the closet.
