I'm trying to get a job at Barnes' and Noble but this application says I need a work permit (because I am not 18). I need to know exactly what it is (I know it permits you to work, but any other information) and how to obtian one in Texas.

  1. For US citizens or permanent residents, show them your social security card.

  2. if you are a u.s. citizen then contact the Texas Workforce commission.

  3. it's your license. That's what i've been told. Of course, i could be totally wrong.

  4. A work permit is issued by your local school district.  Anyone under 18 and still in school must obtain a work permit.  Even if you are no longer in school, go to the school district office and get the forms.  The permit explains how many hours and days in a row you can work and certain other requirements.

  5. Work permits are not if you are not a citizen, if it is pertaining to you being under age. It is a form giving you permission to work because of child labor laws. I believe you can apply for one at the DMV. There are also work permits if you are Not a citizen, that is not what they are asking for.

  6. Isn't that only if you're not a US citizen - unless Barnes & Noble has a coffee shop in it - which it might - then you may need a work permit to work in a food establishment - you go and watch a movie at the health department.

  7. the one in harker heights?
