Does anyone know for sure how the Easter Island heads got there?

It's believed that they were rolled on the logs from the trees. Thats why there are basically no trees on the island and it's thought that the heads were put there to warn off invaders

I watched a show on PBS just a few weeks ago, and,

get this,  apparently those stones came from another

place.   The stones that those statues are made from,

can not be found anywhere on Easter Island, they had

to come from another island scientists believe.

If true, that's pretty amazing considering they each weigh

many tons.

Oh, I just remembered another small but interesting detail.

If you notice, the statues face outward, toward the sea

rather than face inland.  Scientist theorize that they

face toward the home of the people who raised the

Easter Island Heads.
