Does anyone know how americans can get home from mexico with no money ? does the us consulate help or what?

we came here to start a business but it didnt work out.. now we are broke and cant get home.............

In addition to what was said by the lady above me, here are the criteria used by the consular officer in order to help you. At least you know what he/she should know.**

According to the U.S. Department of State website, and specifically clicking on the Mexico site, the Consulate provides certain emergency services relating to deaths, arrests and temporary destitution.  Temporaty destitution means you!  So I would see where the closest embassy is to you and talk with them.  Sorry about the business, but at least now you can go home.
