  1. visit the websites  below, you might be able to get a temporary visa then when you get there go talk to the officials, i had a friend who just moved there and worked without a visa, of course your job choices will be limited..'

And a passport is not the same thing....

  2. A pass port would do the same thing.

But don't be stupid. Going to Ireland for the boyfriend is radical and senseless. Unless of course you have nothing better to do here.

  3. It's really difficult for non-EU citizens to work in Ireland. One fast-track way could be to get married (assuming your boyfriend is an Irish citizen or has legal status). Check with an Irish lawyer.

Or if you enroll as a student you're allowed to work a certain number of hours. But student fees for non-EU citizens are horrendous, so it mightn't be worth it.

  4. Maybe you should try to contact the Irish consulate. I'm sure they could help you with that.

  5. ha ha!  I met an irish boy last summer.  We're to be married in the spring (and yes, i'm MOVING there.  From NYC.)

If you are a student, you can get a temporary work permit through here:

    http://www.bunac.org/

When you get there, you might be able to apply for a work visa through your job (my cousin did it this way)
