Question:

Does anyone know how comfortable Allegiant Air seats are for larger folks? And no snide remarks about weight!

My mother and I will be flying to Las Vegas pretty soon and it has been a few years since I have flown on Allegiant Air. I have never had any problems fitting into the seats and she will be sitting next to me. I would however like to know if any larger folks have flown Allegiant Air and if so how comfortable the seats were. Any issues with the seat belts? Any problems putting the arm rest down?

I don't want any responses from anyone who plans on making any snide or rude remarks so please only respond if you have a first hand experience.

Thanks all!!

  1. Allegiant is a relatively small airline based in Fresno CA.

They have a small fleet of McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 series aircraft.

The good news is that they bought them second hand from Scandinavian Airlines Systems (S.A.S). In the past the aircraft were maintained to a high standard as they had to cope with Scandinavian winters, similar to Northern Minnesota or Canada.

The seat pitch is is only average but you could get an awful lot worse.

I've only flown with these aircraft in Europe in S.A.S. service but I had no problem. I doubt the seats have been changed.

    I'm 6 feet 4 tall and about 230 pounds.
