Question:

Does anyone know how expensive it is to drink in the bars/clubs in Ibiza?

I've just been offered a cheap holiday as someone who was going has had to pull out. I would only have £200 for the week in Ibiza on a bed and breakfast basis. Do you think this would be enough to have a good time?

Thank you :o)

  1. It is if you stick to the bars , the clubs charge outrageous entrance fees and then have the cheek to charge £7.50 for a drink

  2. Depends where you re staying. San Antonio and Santa Eularia are much cheaper than ibiza town with drinks ranging from 3euros to 10euros. The port in Ibiza town is more expensive but a much nicer place to go out, a long drink would cost you 8 or 9 euros, but if you stick to wine or beer these are usually the cheapest at about 4 euros a glass. You can always find cheap places to eat, always make sure you have a look at the menu on the door before you go in so your not shocked! try to go to places which do a "menu del dia" menu of the day, often the more spanish cafe places, and usually off the main roads. In Ibiza Town there are 2 places i recommend which are cheap but really good - "Vinaino" and "Comidas San Juan". But there are many in San Antonio and Santa Eularia etc aswell.

The Clubs are very expensive, and the prices change depending on the time of year. Don`t wait until you get to the door to pay for a club, decide where you are going to go and try and get a discount invitation or ask around as much as you can about a guest list, because there are always long guest lists for free entry or 20euros entry for all the clubs, most of the bars in Ibiza Town will have a guest list or know where you can be put on one. You have to be a bit cheeky but in a clever way, remember the bar owners never want to give something away for nothing; (i.e. make it look like youll be back to the bar every night or something)

Drinks in the clubs are v expensive, a bottle of water ranges from 6 to 9 euros, long drinks are 10 -15 euros, wine and beer is 6 - 10 euros. I always take something to drink while i`m waiting in the queue or before i go in, and then just throw it in the bin at the door, so i`m not desperate for a drink as soon as i get inside.

I also recommend you go to places like bora bora which is a party beach bar in playa den bossa opposite space, the drinks there are much cheaper, its free to get in, and it has all the atmosphere  of the clubs; best to go to the beach there in the day time, and the party gets going around 5ish normally, but there`s music all day.

I`m sure you`ll have a fantasic time, but you will have to budget yourself!!

  3. I made that mistake a few years back. The bars in the "West End" do normal drinks deals (jugs for about £10) BOGOF etc.., but the clubs are between £35-60 to get into (!) and drinks are on average £10 each once in. So if the people going are planning to do the big clubs like Space and Manumission, then you won't have 2 coins to rub together by the third day.

I don't think that food was too expensive ( not that I remember eating much) and the clubs in the West End are a lot cheaper - just remember, you get what you pay for, and they were c**p.

(Also, get travel insurance, as I fell over and ended up spending half of my £250 on medical bills)
