Does anyone know how far the beach is from the dock in Nassau, Bahamas?

We are getting married on a cruise ship in Feb/09...we will be docked in Nassau the day of the wedding...we want to get off the ship after the reception and take some pictures on the beach...how far is the beach from where the cruise ships dock? Any ideas how we can do this?? cab...walk???

Cab or limo...........it is a couple of miles and over a big bridge to Paradise Island.

Not sure about the beaches on the mainland, but, Paradise Island would be a lovely place to go. You can take a regular taxi and go over the bridge or take a "water taxi" small boats that ferry people back and forth to Paradise Island. Or you can all rent little motor scooters like my wife and I do...this is a real blast!

When I was in Nassau, all I did was go to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island..but, check out this link

It lists a bunch of different beaches with some info on them. Some of them aren't in Nassau, but I'm sure you'd be able to get a cheap cab ride to any of them!
