Does anyone know how hard is it to get a bedroom added to a 2 bedroom house?

We live on a hill at that. Who would I be able to get advice on this from.

You will have to talk to an architect. Consider this before you go any further, you will most likely have to alter the slope of your roof, essentially taking the top off and redoing it. Its easier and cheaper to buy another house.

A lot depends on the individual house and what sort of addition you have in mind.  If in doubt, the person to speak with first is an architect.

If it matters - a single story addition at ground level is the easiest to build.

Is your house 1 or 2 stories?  Do you want the extra bedroom on a new level or out the side?
