I was young and i had to give him up for adoption. It was just me and no one else. My family abandoned me. I've been waiting to look for him, but i had to wait until he was 18 years old. I live in Vancouver Canada. If you have any suggestions or can help i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  1. couldnt you go back to the place where you signed the papers for adoption and they can help you

  2. B.C. has open records so you are able to access his identifying information.

"Birth parents of people born and adopted in British Columbia will receive a copy of the adopted person's original birth registration, a copy of the adopted person's birth registration following adoption including any change of name consequent to the adoption, and a copy of the adoption order."

You can not access this info until the adoptee has reached the age of 19.  As long as he is 19 all you really need to do is download and fill out a form then mail or fax it. Once you have his adopted name you can start searching for him through his adopted name.

Start by filling out the form found here

    http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/forms/vsa433_fil...

There is a $50 genealogy fee that must be paid. You also need to provide proof of who you are, this can be done by sending a photocopy of your driver's lisence or government issue photo ID card.

The exact how to is found here

I also suggest contacting Origins Canada, as Gershom already suggested.

  3. google "origins canada"

  4. i know exactly how you feel. there are  million websites that you can go to or at least submit your name to. most of the time, you have to wait for him to contact you, but the best thing that you can do is to contact the adoption agency (or a website that does the same thing) and give them your info so that incase your birth child tries to contact you, they can: with no problems. the easier that you make it for the birth child to contact you, the easier it will be to get in touch with them. there are many websites that list both birth parents and adopted kids that are looking for each other so ou should submit your name there.

  5. is his name andrew hochradel...? cuz that's me. I can't find my birthmother... I just turned 18?

All the very best with your search.

  7. I don't know very much about this but I think you can start with the agency that you gave him to. You will have to find out if his records were sealed, or you may be able to find him by contacting the people who adopted him.  Hope this helps.
