Inmates and prisoners are really easy to locate.  If you can't find them in their cell, check the mess hall and the gym or recreation area.  If they aren't there, your only bet is usually the infirmary.

do a yahoo search for the county and put inmate locator. In Cali every county website has a search engine and it tells you everything. But Prison may be diffrent. Good luck

Depends on the state.  Some state corrections departments maintain free websites that include prisoner locator pages.  NY is one such site.  The federal system also has a system like that.  You should edit this question to specify whether he is in a state or local system and in which jurisdiction.
