I would like to put some aromatherapy oils like lavender into a small pillow. I dont know how i would do this though. I would have to put the oil into something small that i would be able to stick inside of the pillow then sew it up. Any ideas??

  1. If you are not washing this pillow, you can use potpourri.  Spritz some of the oil on it and then let it dry and then put the potpourri in a small drawstring bag and then put into the pillow.

  2. Hello Toledo,

I think hazel eye's solution with the potpourri is a great one!  That is what I would try!

  3. You can spritz the oil onto a cloth like a fabric softener sheet or pellon (used for interfacing) and then insert it into the pillow.  It won't be "crunchy" from potpourri or dried herbs and if you make a pouch or a pocket for it that you can easily change, you can freshen it up with a different fragrance when the sheet wears off.  You could use velcro on a small section of the closure so the sheet could be changed.

  4. I would put a few drops of oil onto the actual herb or bloom and put it deep inside the stuffing of the pillow or just add a few drops onto a cotton ball and bury it inside the stuffing, making sure there was lots of stuffing around it.  Then just sew the pillow up as usual.

  5. I don't now how the oil would stay in place and not 'oil' everything else up too.

Check out natural food stores for lavender to put into a pillow.  You could pour small amounts of the lavender in the pillow then some of the stuffing, then lavender etc.  I think it would smell lovely.

    Good luck!!!!
