Does anyone know how long it takes for a letter from Panama to get to the states?

There is no real answer because Panama's postal service is very unreliable.  Typically, it will take from 5-10 days for a simple letter to reach its US destination from Panama City, Panama's capital.  It will take longer even from other cities in the country.  In some cases, the letter will never arrive, sad but true.  If you intend to mail important documents, please use a courier service like UPS (available nationwide at Mailboxes, etc) or Fedex, DHL...

well my mother send letters and package to my sister by postal mail,it will take between 7 to15 days so the best advice is sending your letters by Fedex,UPS,DHL.but you need to bear in mind that it will cost a lot and they will charge you by measuring the weight and dimmension of your letters or packages.
