I am adopting from Guatemala. I had my fingerprints retaken the 1st week in May (1 month before they were going to expire).

  1. go to:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes....

and select the field office or service center that you went through to find out what dates of cases they're processing now.

If you have a receipt number, go to:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSe...

and input it.  That should give you an even more accurate estimate on where they are.

    I hope this helps.

USCIS took forever to process ours because somewhere along the line they lost our homestudy.  Once we found out that was the problem, we got them a new copy & I had my I-171H very quickly after that!

  2. It really varies from location to location.  Our CIS location I think took about 3 weeks if I remember correctly.

  3. Hi it depends on the bck up....I called my local office in Newark NJ and they said once fingerprints /biometrics done, abtou 4-6 weeks.

  4. It really varies from state to state on the time it takes.  We adopted three times from Guat, and in California, it took about 6 - 8 weeks each time from fingerprinting to CIS approval.

Contact your local to see what thier process times are - here is a site to give you contact information by state : https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action...

    Good Luck!
