I would suggest that you use MapQuest to look for a route at the time in the morning that you need the day before and click on traffic after the route is generated.  You can also do this shortly before you leave on the day that you are going.  I would also suggest buying a Dash Express navigation device which gets real-time traffic via cellular modem.

The traffic data on MapQuest is live from INRIX and it can tell you where it is bad and OK.  Dash also uses INRIX and the other Dash drivers generate info.  I am not sure where Google gets it traffic info.

Google maps says 51 mins... or just over an hour if you use all of route 15 and don't head toward the coast.
