Question:

Does anyone know how long the VISA process in France takes?

I've been accepted into my university's study abroad program for France and I'm supposed to be leaving on January 12th. However, I just applied for a passport renewal yesterday, and they said it would take 10-12 weeks for my passport to arrive. In the meantime, I need to apply for a student visa (long stay) at the French embassy, and one of the requirements is my passport. If I assume that I'm getting my passport in late December, will I have enough time to apply and be approved for a visa before I leave mid-January?

  1. if you produced all the documents when asking for the student visa? more than likely you will have plenty of time,

high season for passports will settle in a month or so, i think you will make on time,

contact the french Embassy already and talk to them, and besides, you have been accepted in a school , that is the most important ,

have you read all the documents that you will need ? get them ready ahead , it will facilitate you visa proceeding.

most US study visa go fast for US,

the financial part is the one who is the most important one to show,

do you need help to find out what you need to present , or are you already aware of all you will need ?

i will come back to check with you here.

  2. I suggest contacting the University in France and ask them what their strategy is in a case like this.
